Thank you for purchasing this pattern and I hope you enjoy stitching this piece as much as I enjoyed designing it for cross stitch. In this PDF, you will receive both patterns, so you can stitch them as a pair!
They are based on the paintings of my husband’s great-grandfather, Daniel Bowman, painted in 1892 and 1893. My husband was gifted one of the paintings and my husband’s brother was gifted the other by my mother-in-law and we all enjoy them in our homes. They reminded me so much of cross stitch samplers from that time, I just had to create them as cross stitch patterns. My mother-in-law was thrilled to see them!
Daniel Bowman was a Pennsylvania Dutch man who was a respected Deacon, entrepreneur, and inventor in his Southwestern Ontario Mennonite community. He seemed like an incredibly interesting man. I wish I could have met him.
In the first pattern, the Pennsylvania Dutch German translates to, I made this bird in 1892, and the second loosely translates to Daniel M Bowman made this is 1893. Enjoy this moment, the next moment may not be yours.

Once you save the file to your computer (check your download folder if you can't find it), you can either print it out at home, print one or two pages instead of the whole pdf if you'd like, or send the file to your local business office supplier printer.
Design Size for each pattern:
16 stitch/in 87 x 96 Stitches
13.7cm x 15.2cm (5.4 x 6.0 in.)
Fabric:
If you are stitching this pattern on a different size than a 16 count fabric, please note the stitch count and calculate your finished design size before you start stitching.
Please make sure you have enough fabric to add a border all around the design. I’d suggest adding 5 cm – 7.5 cm (2-3 in) around each edge.
Colour: I suggest this design could be stitched on any colour, but I suggest a mottled look, like a tea-stained fabric would look beautiful.
