The Laurel Witch Cross Stitch Pattern PDF - Tell the Bees Witch Poppet

It’s been said that beekeeping Witches will tell the bees of any important happenings, bee it (I couldn’t resist) good news or bad. Upon hearing the news of a death, the bees can act as an intermediary between the spirit world and ours and help us get messages across to our loved ones. Sharing birth announcements, happy nuptials, and milestone celebrations as well helps keep these sweet and sensitive creatures thriving. Stitch and frame this piece or create a little poppet doll with her to share all your best secrets with.

Please note: This listing is for the PDF file only and does not include the materials for cross stitching or framing.

Design Size: 91 x 225 Stitches - Do check the stitch count and design size above the colour key. This pattern was designed for 14 count Aida, or it can be stitched 2 over 2 on 28 count Zweigart Even Weave or Linen. Sizes for 16 (32) count and 18 (36) count are also included.

Floss Colours: I think the black DMC 310 would look wonderful if replaced by an overdyed black floss like Leo & Roxy Cotton Floss – Chalkboard (Canadian Company) or Weeks Dye Works – Onyx (USA Company) or your favourite floss company. Be sure to check lengths for other threads you are buying as they may not be the same as DMC. I always buy extra just in case!

Additional skin tones: This is only one example of optional skin tones. Please feel free to use your favourite colours. Replace DMC 225 for DMC 840 (Beige Brown Medium) and replace DMC 152 for DMC 838 (Beige Brown Very Dark).

Fabric: Make sure you have enough fabric to add a border all around the design. I’d suggest adding 5 cm – 7.5 cm (2-3 in) around each side if you want to frame it. You can also sew her into a little doll/poppet or pillow if you’d like.

Colour: I suggest this design could be stitched on any colour that shows the thread colours well but I would suggest a bright blue cloth to represent the colour of a sunny spring day as shown in the photo of the stitched view.
