Stitch the whole pattern or stitch just the beautiful Goddess Brigid to celebrate Imbolc, one of the eight Sabbats on the Wheel of the Year. Imbolc falls on February 1st, halfway between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox, signifying the first stirrings of Spring. In this pattern, Brigid holds the fire that sparks new beginnings, preparing for new growth and birth, and ultimately representing hope after a long cold winter's nap.

Design Size:
171 x 104 stitches - Do check the stitch counts and sizes above the Colour Key. I usually stitch my patterns 2 over 2 on 28 or 32 count Zweigart Laguna Evenweave.

Floss Colours: all DMC Colours and suggestions are listed in the pattern.

Fabric: Make sure to add enough fabric around the design. Please note the stitch counts (14, 16, 18 count fabrics) above the Colour Key and calculate your finished design size before you start stitching.

For a framed piece I’d suggest adding 5 cm – 7.5 cm (2-3 in) around each edge of the design. She would look great in a little rectangular frame with Brigid on her own or the whole pattern would also be great finished as a little doll or pillow.

Colour: I suggest this design could be stitched on any colour that shows off the white stitching.
