“I wander forth this chill December dawn: John Frost and all his elves are out, I see, As busy as the elfin world can be, Clothing a world asleep with fleecy lawn.”
~ Robert Williams Buchanan

My inspiration for this painting was to recreate a Winter Folk Art scene reminiscent of beloved Canadian painter, Maud Lewis and America’s Grandma Moses. Imitating these two famous women painters, this scene came from my imagination with a fondness for covered bridges – in my case - the Wakefield Covered Bridge in Quebec not too far from me, memories of feeling the magic of December as a child with frost-bitten cheeks and snow-covered wool mittens on the back of a snowmobile in small Northern Ontario town in December and the love, lore and celebratory traditions of Nordic countries at this time of year, similar to what I feel in my heart during this magical month.

December is a celebration,
a philosophy of generosity and intelligence.
December is a life shared well.

December is a candle-lit sparkling jewel,
disguised as silver and gold.
Never wavering. Never-ending.

Keep me in your heart and mind, December woman,
and don’t lose sight of me. I’ll be here for you.
Let’s fly together through this adventure called life.
Hold on to me tight while you teach me to leap.

You are STRONG, December woman,
graceful, seeking and will not stop to rest.
Speak your BIG truth, chase your BIG dreams,
the New Year awaits us both.

December is a candle-lit sparkling jewel,
disguised as silver and gold.
Never wavering. Never-ending.

Downloading and Printing Instructions:

Your file will be available to you after your payment is confirmed.
You will automatically be emailed a download link for you to download and save the file to your computer. I'd suggest the easiest way to download it is on your computer, not a phone, as you are limited in the number of times you can download the file.

Once you save the file to your computer (check your download folder if you can't find it), you can either print it out at home or send the file to your local professional printer or even a business office supplier printer like Staples! I would suggest printing the file on a good quality 8 1/2" * 11" white presentation paper or white card-stock or photo paper. I prefer Matte paper, but the print also looks good on glossy photo paper. It's totally up to you!

I'd suggest to print it out with the Black and White setting, but you can try colour as well.

The file prints out to be framed nicely in an 8" * 10" mat opening and looks great framed in a larger frame like the second photo in this listing.

Terms of Use for all Digital Downloads:

"People need art in their houses. They don't need Bed Bath and Beyond dentist-office art. They need weird stuff" -Ezra Croft.

Since 2012, creating prints of my original paintings has always been important to me to make sure my work can reach many audiences at affordable prices. I feel everyone should be able to have the choice to fill their homes with artwork that has grabbed their attention, perhaps reflects their unique taste and lifestyle, and in the case of my work, maybe even conjures up some feelings of magic, myth and wonder like it does for me when I create it.  That being said, I realize offering digital prints opens my work up to the potential of file sharing and much worse, so please take the time to note the following:

- Please use only for personal use and to print it only as intended - Art for your walls.
- All my images are copyrighted and protected. Do not crop or alter the image in any way, including the name and title included in the digital file or use any portion of it in other artwork.
- Please do not share this file. Please direct anyone interested to my shop instead!
- No refunds are available for digital files. If you have an issue with the digital file, please contact me and I will resend the file if needed.

Thank you for your consideration and your support of the Arts!
