Laura Daub Cross Stitch Pattern PDF - Mystic Eye
Laura Daub Cross Stitch Pattern PDF - Mystic Eye
This pattern was inspired by Late Eighteenth-Century Eye Miniatures - the first occurrence possibly having been recorded in 1785 when the lovesick Prince George of Wales sent a letter and a framed picture of his own eye to his love interest begging for her hand in marriage. For more on these hauntingly beautiful offerings, including what became of his proposal and additional examples of mystical eye paintings and jewelry, visit https://www.artsy.net/article/artsy-editorial-mysterious-history-lovers-eye-jewelry
Choose from four eye colour options as well as two skin tone options. For finishing, you may even want to put a lock of hair in your framed pieces.
Yours truly in all things mystical and magical,
Laura Daub

Please note: This listing is for the PDF file only and does not include the materials for cross stitching or for making the little dolls/pillows.
Design Size:
28 x 23 Stitches - Do check the stitch counts and sizes above the colour key to decide how big you want the eye to be. My models were stitched 2 over 2 on 32 count Zweigart Linen hand-dyed with Teal Rit Dye.
Floss Colours: Please see the Colour Keys on both the green eye pattern and the brown eye pattern and feel free to change or mix the colours as you prefer.
Additional Eye Colour Options:
Hazel - DMC3829 and DMC895
Blue - DMC3844 and 3846
Fabric: Make sure you have enough fabric to add a border all around the design. I’d suggest adding 5 cm – 7.5 cm (2-3 in) around each side for framing or for finishing it into a decorative ornament/pillow.
Colour: I suggest this design could be stitched on any colour.

Once you save the file to your computer (check your download folder if you can't find it), you can either print it out at home, print one or two pages instead of the whole pdf if you'd like, or send the whole file to your local business office supplier printer.
