It's time for planting our gardens, growing herbs and plants for spell making, for tea brewing, for salves and medicines. This Midnight Garden Witch knows the power working her magic under the full moon!
I started working on my family tree online when I started designing this pattern. It was meaningful to find quickly find a newspaper article with an obituary of a relative born in 1831 with the text,
"She had a wide knowledge of the medicinal value of herbs, and it was her habit to always have a store of them on hand for treatment of sickness during the winter."
She lived to the age of 97, so she must have known what she was doing! I like to think she may have been a Garden Witch herself and what I wouldn't give to know more about her plant knowledge. I look forward to finding more magic in my ancestry, especially along my maternal lineage.
I hope you enjoy stitching this piece as much as I enjoyed designing it for cross stitch.

Once you save the file to your computer (check your download folder if you can't find it), you can either print it out at home, print one or two pages instead of the whole pdf if you'd like, or send the whole file to your local business office supplier printer.

Design Size:
183 x 192 Stitches - Please check the sizing for 14, 16 and 18 count fabrics above the colour key.
Make sure you have enough fabric to add a border all around the design. I’d suggest adding 5 cm – 7.5 cm (2-3 in) around each edge.
Fabric:
I think this design can be stitched on any colour, but a blue or purple fabric would be a great choice to act as the night sky if you choose to stitch the stars. I usually stitch my patterns 2 over 2 on 32-count Zweigart Laguna Evenweave but lately I have been giving my eyes a rest and stitching on 28-count Evenweave 2 over 2 and loving it!
